Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and McKillop Creative LLC, a South Carolina limited liability company doing business as Bedside Stories ("Bedside Stories," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Bedside Stories generates personalized children's bedtime stories using artificial intelligence, based on information you provide about your child. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
2. Who may use it
You must be 18 or older and a parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you provide. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
Important — not medical advice. Bedside Stories is an entertainment product. It does not provide medical care, mental-health treatment, diagnosis, or professional advice of any kind, and no physician-patient relationship is created by using it. "Care Stories" is the name of a personalization feature — it generates stories, not therapy or treatment. Stories are generated by artificial intelligence following rules written by our founder; parents should preview any story for their own comfort and read at their own discretion. If you have concerns about your child's sleep, anxiety, or wellbeing, please talk to their pediatrician.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Free tier: a limited number of stories at no charge, no card required
- Paid plans: billed monthly or annually via Stripe, auto-renewing until canceled
- Cancel anytime through the Stripe billing portal (linked in our site footer and FAQ) using the email you subscribed with; cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access through the period you've paid for
- The First-Week Guarantee: if you are not satisfied for any reason, email us within 30 days of your first paid subscription and McKillop Creative LLC will issue a full refund; stories already generated remain yours
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes never apply retroactively to time you've already paid for, and Founding Family annual pricing is locked for as long as the subscription remains active
4. Your content and ours
- Stories generated for your family are yours to read, print, save, and share personally, forever — including after you cancel
- You may not resell generated stories or use the service to mass-produce content for commercial publication
- The Bedside Stories name, design, story engine, prompts, and site content belong to us and may not be copied or reverse-engineered
Story illustrations are also generated by artificial intelligence. Every illustration is automatically reviewed for age-appropriateness before it is shown, and illustrations are displayed only for the current reading session — they are not stored. AI-generated images can occasionally contain visual imperfections; if one ever seems wrong for bedtime, email [email protected] — reports go straight to the founder.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to generate content that is harmful or inappropriate for children, probe or overload our systems, scrape the service, share your account, or provide information about a child you are not the parent or guardian of. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
6. AI-generated content
Stories are generated by AI and reviewed by our content rules, but AI can occasionally produce imperfect results. We recommend a parent read along. If a story ever misses the mark, generate a new one — and tell us at [email protected] so we can improve.
7. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we protect it. It's short and in plain language; please read it.
8. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Termination
You can delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with a refund of any unused prepaid period unless the violation was willful.
10. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; meaningful changes will be emailed to account holders 30 days before taking effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Greenville County, South Carolina.
